The right artwork changes how you feel.
The right artwork doesn’t complete a room. It changes how you feel inside it. The interior of Villa de Duinen was designed by Mariska Jagt around calm, soft lines and quiet simplicity. Rather than adding more, she wanted to introduce another layer, one that invites curiosity and reflection.
That is what great art does. It doesn’t tell you what to think; it invites you to discover your own story. Beautiful interiors aren’t created by filling a space. They’re created by choosing pieces that continue to reveal themselves.
Knowing the story behind each work, including the idea, technique, process, and craft, creates a deeper connection and turns a piece into something you are proud to live with.

ART[s] x VILLA DE DUINEN
Luxury, warm materials, connection and a strong attention to atmosphere.

When a Room Becomes Personal
The most beautiful interiors are often the ones that whisper instead of shout. The corners that make you slow down, stay a little longer and quietly exhale. That feeling is created through layers of softness. Tactile fabrics, warm earthy tones, gentle lighting and art that brings emotion into a space. Because a room becomes memorable when it touches something beyond the eye.
“Art has always been an essential part of my work and life. Not as decoration, but as soul. Everyone sees something different in art. Feels something different. That is what makes it so personal – and so powerful.” – Mariska Jagt

Why This Collaboration Took Shape
Villa de Duinen, located in Noordwijk aan Zee, is a special location. It is a unique and versatile place where tranquility, relaxation, inspiration and enjoyment are central, with a bistro and lounge bar as an atmospheric place where you can dine and relax.
ART[s] Gallery and Mariska Jagt share the belief that art and interior design are strongest when conceived as one. At Villa de Duinen, this shared vision comes to life, with art becoming an integral part of the atmosphere, identity and experience of the space.

A defining characteristic of his work is the purity of form, combined with a striking contrast between the pure, matte clay body and the rich, glossy colors of the glaze.
