Studio Oshi
Oshi is a China-born, Europe-based artist whose works explore the quiet tension between freedom and form. Shaped by a cross-cultural journey from China to the UK, and now Spain, her work reflects movement, transformation and elevation.
Working with suspended acrylic paint and minimalist structures, she creates tactile compositions that blur painting and sculpture. Influenced by Chinese traditional painting and calligraphy, her practice explores the space between reality and imagination – where gesture, lightness, and structure converge.
Through Studio Oshi, she presents works that feel both grounded and weightless, unbinding paint from the canvas and tradition from expectation. Sculptural layers, shadows, and open space define her visual language.

‘Weight of Light’ is a series of work that explores containment, movement, and transformation.
Paint is lifted from the surface and suspended within acrylic structures – held between control and release, painting and sculpture. What begins as a fluid gesture becomes displaced, reformed, and contained in space.
Inspiration from Chinese calligraphy, each mark carries both precision and surrender. Removed from its origin, the stroke is no longer continuous – it is interrupted, held, and redefined.
This work reflects an ongoing exploration of holding: absorbing, containing, and allowing form to exist without resistance.
