Stella Gommans
Stella Gommans began her artistic journey in the world of dance, but eventually discovered her true language in imagery. As an autodidact photographer she developed from early on, a fascination with light – that which both reveals and conceals – and with the ability of an image to carry more than what is visible at first glance.
Her style of photography is marked poetic and elegant in which light and shadow take center stage. Inspired by nature and the Old Masters she shaped her own contemporary vision. Stella searches for the silent intensity within moments. She calls herself a fetishist of images: moved by nuances of light and color and texture.

In this series “Fragments of My Being” I explore how life, memory, love and loss leave their traces; each work is a fragment in itself, sometimes marked by a scar – a quiet testimony to strength, vulnerability and imperfection.
