During my training as a potter, I was encouraged by a vocational school teacher to apply for a degree in fine arts at the Institute for Artistic Ceramics and Glass. This impulse opened the path toward an artistic career that had not seemed self-evident within a strongly craft-oriented environment.

During my studies, I developed a particular affinity for porcelain and hand-building techniques, which continue to form the core of my practice.
