Rita Paupério
Rita Paupério (b. 1981, Espinho, Portugal) is a visual artist based in Espinho. Trained in communication design, photography, and choreography, she began working regularly in her studio in 2023. Her abstract paintings explore form, color, and composition using acrylic, oil stick, charcoal, and wax pastel, balancing intuition and technical control.
Inspired by poetry and existential reflection, her works create internal landscapes that record emotion and memory. Paupério has held solo exhibitions including Being brave brings pain and flowers (2024) and Muted Coastline (2025), and has been recognized in national and international competitions and biennials.
