Waanplekken explores imagined landscapes that feel both familiar and unplaceable. Constructed in the studio from everyday materials like salt, paper, and wood, these scenes transform into vast mountains, valleys, and deserts, suggesting nature while remaining entirely fictional. Through cyanotypes, the work captures not just an image but a process: sunlight, chemistry, and time leave visible traces in stains, tones, and irregular edges. The deep blues, softened by tea and coffee baths, evoke both distance and intimacy. Balancing illusion and materiality, the works reflect on how landscapes are shaped, by memory, imagination, and the artist’s hand-blurring the line between reality and invention.
