‘Weight of Light’ is a series of work that explores containment, movement, and transformation. Paint is lifted from the surface and suspended within acrylic structures – held between control and release, painting and sculpture. What begins as a fluid gesture becomes displaced, reformed, and contained in space. Inspiration from Chinese calligraphy, each mark carries both precision and surrender. Removed from its origin, the stroke is no longer continuous – it is interrupted, held, and redefined. This work reflects an ongoing exploration of holding: absorbing, containing, and allowing form to exist without resistance.
