Outil.li are Yoeri Nagtegaal and Sjoerd Smit. They met each other while studying Industrial Design. Since then finding balance between modern industry, form and utility is their shared passion. Their work is characterised by a thoughtful combination of form and self imposed scarcity.
They restrict themselves to small scale digital production methods, recycled & reusable materials and they design & produce everything in house. This process results in lamps with a voluptuous kind of economy, a minimum of material with a lot of presence.
During the exposition THERESI_ART 10 outil.li will showcase their lamps, including a limited introductory series of the jello pendant. All are enigmatic, seemingly floating capsules with their own characteristic light. The combination of the 3D printing process, material and colour create light with a unique, phantasmal atmosphere.
The lamps above the bathtub and kitchen are linked to “dials” – wireless, rotary controls – that allow direct control of light from any tabletop. They are carefully engineered to allow delightful, tangible, interactions with any light. As the lamps, these dials are fully 3D printed from recycled & reusable materials.
