Mart Schrijvers
Mart studied landscape design in Brussels before moving to Berlin in the mid-nineties to work as a landscape architect. She now lives and works in France, where she studied ceramics at CNIFOP in Burgundy. Initially crafting utilitarian pottery, she shifted her focus to the expressive potential of turning techniques, using unfired clay.
Her distinctive biscuit porcelain pieces are made by rolling clay into segments, which are then shaped and joined together. Drawing inspiration from nature’s forms, her work reflects the beauty of gardens, fungi, and flowers, blending slow, meditative processes with a deep connection to the landscape.
