Manon Stoeltie is a Dutch designer and a 2018 graduate of the Royal Academy of Arts (KABK). She specialized in interior architecture and furniture design. Her work uniquely blends traditional techniques with an exploration of themes such as waste, value, temporality, and permanence.

 A strong commitment to sustainability marks Manon’s creative process. She believes that we produce too many products and that each new trend demands the latest materials and techniques. Reflecting on our consumption habits and the pressure they create to constantly produce new work, Manon repurposes existing materials and emphasizes experimentation. She aims to foster a more conscious approach to consumption and production. Her designs are characterized by a thoughtful and playful combination of form and diverse materials.

During THERESI_ART 11, Manon will be presenting her “The Amended” series, which consists of several interior objects made of polystyrene packaging bases covered in water-based acrylic composite, with additional aluminium elements. While “The Amended” is a series of functional furniture pieces, it also invites us to question the relationship between functionality, aesthetics, necessity, and value. This series is the result of her research and experimentation aimed at promoting a more conscious way of consuming and making, transforming materials into contemporary objects that challenge conventional notions and highlight the potential for beauty and utility in what might otherwise be discarded.
