Jacqueline Heidanus
After graduating from the Design Academy Eindhoven, Jacqueline Heidanus worked for years as a pattern and print designer. Her motifs appeared on various products through printing, screen printing, or woven textiles. This urge to give objects character and personality through drawing now resonates in her ceramic work.
“Ceramic Volumes” are porcelain and earthenware objects whose “volume” refers to both their rounded exterior and the hollow space within. Their soft, pebble-like shapes are refined by hand. Built up from countless tiny dots recessed into the surface and filled with glaze, her drawings are like subtle tattoos on the ceramic skin. The patterns are created from intuition, embracing the imperfect. This manual process gives each piece a quiet but vivid presence.
