“Everything is in motion. That is what I want to make tangible with my work and constantly remind us of.”
Eva Hendriks creates tactile wall works that beckon viewers to engage with their unique textures, inspired by the inherent qualities of natural materials and influenced by the coastal landscapes and the ocean.
Eva’s artistic journey evolved from her background in property development, where she became intimately familiar with raw materials. Today, raw materials center stage in her art, as metal, sand and salt, transform into elegant works that seamlessly embody both strength and fragility.
Having fearlessly embraced experimentation and drawn from her experiences during a decade abroad, particularly in metropolises like Shanghai and Bangkok, Eva has honed her skills and developed a keen eye for detail. This period of exploration has made her a keen observer, a quality vividly reflected in her work.
The observer is captivated by the perpetual motion within Eva’s creations. Changes in light and personal perception induce a continual sense of movement and dynamism, a testament to Eva’s philosophy encapsulated in the phrase “Panta Rhei” – everything is, and will remain, in motion.
Eva’s creations have found a place in private collections across Europe, the United States, and Latin America.
