Fransje Gimbrère is a Dutch designer and artist working at the intersection of craftsmanship, material innovation, and human experience. With a foundation in traditional techniques, she reimagines textile-based crafts into contemporary, conceptual works that engage the senses and explore emotion and space. Drawing from neuro-aesthetics and psychology, her research-led approach results in immersive objects and installations that balance aesthetics with function.

Since graduating from Design Academy Eindhoven in 2017, Gimbrère has earned international acclaim for her experimental 3D weaving and material exploration. Her work ranges from the Standing Textile(s) series to large-scale commissions like Cirrus, Linum, and Physis, transforming environments in both subtle and striking ways.

Beyond her practice, she actively supports the cultural field through education, advisory roles and board memberships, including at the Cultuurfonds.
