Coen Derickx creates sculptures that behave like physical renderings. As a child he marveled at how hair moved in water and how light glowed through skin, a wonder he now channels into material systems. Drawing on his background in computer animation, he establishes conditions, cuts, densities, and immersions through which strand materials reorganize under water, gravity, and tension. The resulting forms hold shifting gradients and unfolding patterns.

His practice bridges digital logic and tactile intuition, shaping material behavior with deliberate intent to explore emergence, perception, and the dialogue between control and chance.
