Celia magnifies folds and wrinkles, she combines old and new techniques to create a striking illusion of depth and light. In her series called ‘Folds’ she presents wall hangings in which the folds and wrinkles have been greatly magnified. Through the use of the classic ‘trompe l’oeil’ effect, the works have a three-dimensional feeling, thereby confusing the viewer’s gaze.
