Bouk de Roeck
Bouk de Roeck was born in 1999 and has been engaged in his creative career from a young age. He started early with drawing, painting and graffiti.
During secondary school, Bouk enjoyed art classes the most. When he was not accepted into the art academy, he wanted to explore whether studying at the HvA might be a good fit. However, he quickly realized that he needed to return to what he loved most: making art.
Bouk began working with digital art in Photoshop, drawing inspiration from nature, he created digital artworks through photo manipulation. However, these could be reproduced in multiple editions, and Bouk was looking for something unique. In 2024, he decided to start working with his hands, and within that same year he developed his own distinctive style.

“Deep Sea” is a sculpture that drifts between reality and imagination, capturing the mystery of life beneath the ocean’s surface. Unlike my wall-mounted works, this piece stands on its own, inviting you to explore it from every angle—like gazing into a living fragment of another world.
At its heart is a coral-inspired sculpture, textured and organic, as if shaped by the quiet force of the sea itself. Resting delicately atop the coral are butterflies—creatures of air transformed into beings of water. Their presence turns the sculpture into a surreal fantasy, a place where boundaries dissolve and the impossible feels natural.

Vivid Dreams is an immersive artwork that celebrates bold contrasts and surreal color play. At its heart lies a hand-sculpted coral structure, brought to life with vibrant hues and delicate real butterflies perched across its surface—inviting a sense of wonder and discovery.
What makes this piece truly unique is its dynamic use of color: viewed from the left, the sculpture radiates warm tones, shifting from sunlit yellows to deep reds. From the right, the palette transforms into a soft yet striking pink-to-purplegradient—like stepping from sunset into a dreamscape.

A rough, coral-like pyramid with a natural rock texture. Gold butterflies and small pearls sit on top, adding a light, soft touch to the solid shape. Inside a brown acrylic pyramid box, it feels like a moment kept still, balancing strength and change.

Golden Emerald is a radiant exploration of detail, depth, and transformation. This oval-shaped sculpture is composed of over 1,500 hand-sculpted ceramic anemone tentacles, each carefully formed to create a flowing, organic surface that seems to ripple with life.
Resting delicately atop the textured sea of tentacles are butterfly wings, their shimmering presence adding both fragility and contrast. Like fleeting moments preserved in time, they crown the sculpture with a sense of lightness and quiet poetry.
